Dr Herman Lahon was elected as Honorary Life President of IFAPP in September 2004. Herman was the founder President of this Association in 1975 and has served continuously within IFAPP from that date, acting as secretary or treasurer on occasion. He is a senior member of the Belgian College of Pharmaceutical Medicine and has been intimately involved with the Postgraduate Courses in Pharmacology and Pharmaceutical Medicine. He is a key driver in the process to harmonize requirements for education in pharmaceutical medicine (the founding chair of the IFAPP CEPM), and also within the initiative to gain EU recognition of pharmaceutical medicine as a specialty.
