| At the occasion of the general assembly of the GPM (Gesellschaft für Pharmazeutische Medizin) on Tuesday, January 15th 2002 a new Board was elected:
President: Gerfried Nell, MD Novartis Pharma GmbH email: gerfried.nell@pharma.novartis.com Vice President: Wolfgang Bonitz, MD Novartis Pharma GmbH email: wolfgang.bonitz@pharma.novartis.com Treasurer/Executive Director: Harald Huber, MD Schering Wien GmbH email: harald.huber@schering.at Secretary General: Christian Kollenz, MD email: christian.kollenz@gebro.com Public Relations Manager: Lutz Hegemann, MD,PhD email: luhe@nycomed.com Deputy Public Relations Manager: Heinz Carmann, MD Quintiles GmbH email: heinz.carmann@quintiles.com Gerhard Nahler MD, PHD, who was the founding president of the Austrian Society and served for 9 years as president was elected as Honorary Member of the Society in acknowledgement of his numerous crucial contributions to the GPM. The newly elected president Gerfried Nell defined as aims for the forthcoming 3 years period: - organization of conferences on burning topics in pharmaceutical medicine - building up further the image of the society as a competent partner of authorities, professional organizations, law makers and the general public in all questions regarding pharmaceutical medicine - to participate in efforts to establish the acknowledgement of a medical speciality in pharmaceutical medicine and an equivalent title for scientists in Austria - to encourage colleagues in the neighbouring reform countries to establish societies of Pharmaceutical Medicine. |
